I believe that everything in our life happens for a reason. I know, as cliché as it sounds, this does resonate strongly through my life. Weather a situation appears to be positive or negative in that current moment of our lives we must trust it, it is happening for a reason. Life does not stop and start, life is a continuous journey~ flow through life-like you would your yoga practice. The most powerful thing we can do on our journey is to accept where we are from this place right here, right now. This does not mean things will stay like this forever (or maybe you want them to, it is your life after all). We can find peace and build our lives around it. Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self. My yoga journey has a long way to progress, with so much more to learn and many more opportunities, hopefully continue to grow over the years of my life. I hope you enjoy reading my story so far, I am excited to see what the future holds for a career in yoga.
I am currently practicing yoga as a student, learning from incredibly inspiring, highly experienced teachers here in the heart of Liverpool. My dream is to travel the world teaching yoga, promoting health and happiness, sharing my thoughts and beliefs as I see the beauty of our earth. I have always been an active in years of my life participating in dance classes for over ten years of my life. I first began practicing yoga as I wanted to gain more flexibility and strength to help with my dancing. I practiced on and off in different studios across my city.
Sudden changes then occurred in my life which led to yoga becoming a much bigger part of my life. Following what seemed to be a devastating event (in reality it was a blessing, but in the moment it seemed pretty bad. I’ll spare you every detail).A relationship came to an abrupt ending. This was a difficult time for me, as it is for any individual who goes through a break up with someone who was previously involved in your life. However, I am optimistic and I knew everything happens for a reason. That obviously was not the right path for my life. I allowed this event to help me to grow and progress in various areas of my life. This story is about the beautiful, positive changes that were brought into my life because of yoga. Finding the path of yoga~ lead to love.
This is where my story begins.
I do like to think of myself as a strong-minded person. I wouldn’t say I was overly sensitive. Therefor, I did not allow this impact my life instead I strove to better myself to move forward, because after all the past is better left in the past. I turned to yoga. I had read about the wonderful benefits yoga for our mind and soul aswell as the physical body. I think most of us are aware that yoga is beneficial but until you truly dedicate time, passion and connect your breath to your practice you do not experience the magic of it. It completely transformed me both physically and mentally. I focused my time and energy into yoga in different classes each week. I then undertook a four-week intensive course with an inspirational teacher. I would wake up at 5am each morning for four weeks and practice Prana Vashya series one and two for 2 hours. This is where my drive to want to progress my practice really began. My heart was instantly captured, and not only by yoga.
Yoga allowed my mind to be free to escape from the hurt I felt. Little by little, day by day I was learning, I was evolving. Myself and my yoga practice were improving, my life was changing. I was moving away from the negative thoughts that arose I was able to deal with them and move towards a better life. You see… Love didn’t hurt me, love gave me the strength to move on, to let go, to find love within myself. Love saved me.
Yoga acted and still does act as a release for me. It is a tool I used to reach optimum happiness, it is magical. Yoga has allowed me to control my mind, to accept myself, to love my mind and my body for all that it is. Yoga allows me to connect with my breath, connect with my inner self, disconnect from the things that cause me to lose mindfulness and awareness of who I am and where I want to be.

My mind, my heart have been opened and expended so much more after finding yoga. This leads on to the next part of my story.
Adapting my diet and my morals.
Around the same time I started practicing yoga more frequently I also transitioned to a plant-based vegan lifestyle. I say lifestyle because to me it is so much more than a diet it is now my whole life. I was raised vegetarian from birth but the more in-depth research into veganism I did it awakened something within my mind and soul. I knew adapting my life and diet was what I needed to do. I am vegan not only for my own health, but also for the benefit of the planet and the animals. I am vegan so that in the future my children and their future children get to experience clear ocean water filled with beautiful fish, green trees to climb on and animal friends to embrace in my eyes the reality is that animals are on this planet WITH US, NOT FOR US. For me Yoga and a vegan lifestyle came hand in hand with one another as when you practice none violence you practice yoga. My vegan lifestyle is another positive outlet I focus my energy into. Focusing on fuelling my body with the right nutrients is a big passion of mine. For yoga a fit, healthy body is needed as well as a healthy mind.

I’ve been so lucky to have met such inspiring, like-minded people throughout my yoga journey within my yoga studio. So many positive people have been brought into my life through yoga right when I needed them the most. Uplifting and encouraging me both in and out of classes. I have loved meeting lots of new people learning so much from my teachers and am looking forward to what the future holds.
I’ve been so blessed to have crossed paths with one individual in particular who has transformed my entire world. It’s amazing to think how yoga brought us together. It helped us determine the course of our destiny and destiny brought us together. Such a beautiful relationship has blossomed . He also follows a vegan lifestyle and so this is a big part of our lives and relationship. He support and encourages me in my yoga he truly believes in me in all I do each day . He introduced me to like-minded people when we met which was so refreshing to meet such passionate knowledgable people. It makes me so proud to see how much he cares for animals, how passionate he is about his lifestyle and how he devotes his time to promoting animal welfare, protecting and saving their lives.
We are now both flowing through life together and I’m excited to see where our future takes us. We practice together regularly attending classes such as ashtanga, yin, hatha, and prana vashya.
We are planning our travels to India to complete our yoga teacher training which we are very excited about. My ultimate goal is to pursue a career in teaching yoga. I would also love for us both as a couple to use our knowledge and passion of vegan nutrition and yoga to help inspire others in their lives: to help them recognise they have the power within themselves to take their health into their own hands like we do.Currently I am writing these blog posts promoting a positive plant-based diet and tips on a happy, healthy lifestyle in the bid to inspire. I am so grateful for this outlet to share my thoughts, passions and help others on their journey wherever possible. Each day I move closer to my goals. I feel extremely blessed to have this special person alongside me I wouldn’t want to share these moments with anyone else. He was so kind to gift me with the beautiful Dhyana Juru Yoga mat for my birthday recently. I am in love with it! Even during sweaty practices this enables me to really focus on my breath and my practice. I love the colour and the feel of the mat. It is really unique and anti-slip.
